Day 0

Pick up from airport / Mataram city center. Heading to homestay in Sembalun. Check in and have total rest before long trek the next coming days.

Early trekking starts by 06.00.

• After breakfast, first trekking route for 2 hours to reach Post 1. Break for taking breathe then continue to heading to Post 2
• Lunch break in Post 2
• Heading further to Plawangan Sembalun point
• It takes about 3 hours steep trek from the last Point 3 to reach Plawangan Sembalun point
• Arriving in Plawangan Sembalun by maximum 5PM. Set the tent and rest

Day 2

Summit trek starts by 01.00AM.

• By early morning on 1AM, guests may wake up and prepare for summit attack
• Approximattely we will back again to Plawangan Sembalun point by 6AM
• Breakfast and rest
• After breakfast, guests may trek down the steep crater to reach the lake. Rest in the lake by noon with the view of new "mount" in the middle of the lake
• Then after, heading to hotsoring to refresh and relax the tensed muscles
• Camp in the lake side

Day 3

Going back to Senaru and drive to mataram city.

• Wake up by 6AM and have breakfast
• Walk thru the lake to reach Plawangan Senaru and continue further to go back to Post 2 of Senaru
• Lunch break and continue walking till Senaru village
• Pick up by transportation and transfer to Mataram city. Drop in airport by maximum 9PM or check in hotel

IJEN BLUE FIRE - LARGEST ACID LAKE IN WORLD

Kawah Ijen or Ijen Crater is volcano which has the largest acided lake in the world, about 20 Km wide and the volume of the crater proximately around 36 cubic hectometres (29,000 acre•ft).

The summit of ijen crater is about 2.799 meter high,  it took and effort for peoples to reach at the top. Mostly it take  two-hour hike is required to reach rim of the crater (1.5 kilometers) from the summit, and 45 minutes to hike down to the bank of the crater, a guide necessary.

The caldera or the lake of Kawah Ijen harbors  has turquoise colored, the color it came from acidic crater lake that leaks sulphurous gases constantly then mix the the water spring that come of from bottom of crater area.

at Nigh the hot gases burn out to emit an amazing blue glow unique color  in some part of the bottom of crater, it well known as “Blue fire” pure fire that emerge beneth the earth.

the blue fire emerge because the gases and also liquid sulphur emerge from the cracks in the volcano come up with high pressure and temperature (up to 600°C) and when it contact with the air suddenly it ignite and burn  as it flows down the slopes among the pipe giving the feeling of blue lava flowing.

Kawah ijen is becoming very well known in the world, as the only one natural blue fire. But not many peoples know that actually ijen is not only amazing touristic destination. From Dutch colonial age, Kawah Ijen is work place for sulphur miner.

The liquid sulphur that leaking from beneath the earth channeled through a network ceramic-steal pipe line, the liquid with bright red color molten, pours slowly through ceramic-steal pipelines, then end of on the ground and liquid sulphur mix with Oxygen it condense instantly then change the color becoming bright yellow when it cools down.

All then miner have to break the yellow cooled sulphur into pieces, the nearby crater in very dense of sulfuric smoke (gas) that emerge of crater which can make peoples hardly to breath and also make the eyes itchy. The miner have to deal with such harsh enviromment an able to collect sulfur put in the their bamboo basket and carried it down the hills. Mostly the miner carried weight of basket up to 60 Kg – 100 kg and they carried it twice a day.

The miner carried it down, weight it up at post point, then the officer (from private company) note how much they carried in their basket, every 1 kg of sulfur paid for 800 – 900 IDR.

The workers work in extremely hazardous condition with insufficient protection. Most of them suffers from numerous respiratory problems due to breathing toxic fumes day in and out. At times they work at night under to escape the heat of the sun, and to earn extra income.

GOA LO CAVING

Caving on South Suburb area of Malang City

     Malang City has many tourism subjects such as beaches, mountains, historical places. But only few people ever heard or know if there are many adventurous caves wait to be explored. Yess!!! We probably visited wonderful beaches, or hiked to extraordinary mountains, but… only few people had sneaked in between solid rock formations, climbing, crawling, and pitching into small holes. Thus only some of us ever seen one of those magnificent caves,this is it...

    Yup…. Those attractive spots are hidden under the ground surfaces. We need to climb down inside and let our eyes capture them. Some people said there are three bacis rules of caving (and other nature spots as well) ; Take nothing but picture, Leave nothing but footprints, and Kill nothing but time.

    So… when people ask you, "What did you find down there?”,  we might said that we  found only mud, streams , waterponds, large empty spaces and tight crawls, ordinary cave animals, and few kinds of waterfalls :D, then the paradise you've visited may stay more safe as less people going there by themselves ; and ...

SEMERU SUMMIT TRAIL

Semeru summit, the highest Mountain at Java

     Hiking to the highest mountain and standing on the top –next to the crater- at one of the most active volcano on Java Island, would be an extraordinary experience. Thus, Semeru Mountain is a stratovolcano, with the summit elevation 3676 meter. 

    Semeru has become one of favotrite mountain hike destination; the adventures, the gorgeous landscapes and the story lies behind has become the main attractions. It takes 3 days to reach the top of Semeru. At first, we walk about 6 hours from the start point (Ranu Pane Village) to Ranu Kumbolo –a lake. Then continue hiking over Tanjakan Cinta hill to reach a wide savana called oro-oro ombo. And next, we pass some forests with varies vegetations such as : pine trees, edelweiss, and also algaed branches. Usually people will stop at Kalimati, then start again to reach the top of semeru in early morning the next day. 

    
   Semeru Mountain highly related with Hindu and Buddhist cosmology, the name of Semeru originally came from Meru or Sumeru which means the abode of the God. With that old legend’s history about how this mountain exists in Java Island, Semeru Mountain becomes the most sacred mountain in Java-Bali. Every places in Semeru Mountain is a worship places for Hindu religion. BALURAN NATIONAL PARK

Wild Life at Baluran

    Watching wild peacocks running freely, and do some eye-spy over junglefowl behind those bushes , and even staring an Eagle fling high above the sky. Those are few activities among many other that we can do at Baluran National Park.

     Baluran National Park located in north-east part of Java Island, nearby Banyuwangi city. This park cover about 25.000 hectares, consists of mountains area, monsoon forests area, African savana's looks and also coastlines.

      At the mountains area there is Mount Baluran with the top around 1.247 meter as the background view behind the wide savannah. The monsoon forests area are home for monkeys, some birds species, and become shelter for deers, and buffaloes (any hunting activities is being restrictied here) during night. 

    The main spectacular view at Baluran National Park is the African savanna's looks at Bengkol, yess…! There you'll spot a wide range of bright yellow grass covering huge space of land, and completed by some indigeneous animals which living at savana such as : Banteng (Bos javanicus), buffalo (Bubalus bubalis) and also Rusa (Deer Cervus timorensis). Those animals being set free at the park, just like any animal daily life on an extra ordinary typical land which looks like African's savana.

   Before we're getting completely satisfied by the magnificent of mountain savana's sceneries and animals, we need to look further to the other side of the national park. There some white sandy beaches are waiting for you with its wide view started from Bama beach. We can do some canoeing by using very simple boat and certainly we have to experience the underwater view by snorkeling and explore more under the sea along those coral reefs.

Standing 680-1700 meter above the sea level with temperature approximately 15-19 celcius, Batu City nowadays become one of most visited entertaining city in East Java. Only 19 km from Malang and 2 hours drive from Surabaya.

The geographical surrounding in Batu City suits for farming, especially vegetable and fruits plantations. Most of local people are farmer; they plant kinds of vegetable on wide terrace-stage of mountain nearby, such as carrots, cauliflowers, potatoes, etc.

Batu City also produce very popular product, it's apple. Batu apple well known all across Indonesia , the variety of apples which farmer usually grows are Manalagi apple, Anna apple, Wanglin apple and Rome Beauty apple. Each apples have different flavor, texture and shape. It won’t be complete when we visit Batu City without taste the fresh and healthy of Batu City's apple. 
 Since Dutch colonial era, Batu has became favorite destinations place for recreation of  colonial officers, they called it De Kleine Switzerland in Java. So there are many colonial buildings in Batu City, some of them are abandoned  but the other still well managed until now; such as Hotel Kartika Wijaya which founded by Armenian Sarkies Brothers (founders of the Raffles Hotel in Singapore) on late 1800.

SEMPU LAGOON TREKKING

Segara Anakan - Sempu Island 

Have you ever visited a kind of lagoon? 

Local people mention the lagoon as Segara Anakan. Segara means Ocean, and Anakan means little kid, so it means “little ocean” and located hidden inside Sempu Island.

Yes.!!.. this beautiful lagoon - with white sandy beach - is hidden inside the island. We need to cross the bay, using traditional boat and walk along the forest to get there.

We could see diversity of rain forest plants, such as type of Artocarpus elasticus, rattans, mangroves and sometime we could see the silvered-leaf monkey also boar.

In the lagoon, we could lay down on the sand, snorkeling, and also climb up the the hill to see the blue ocean behind.
